Natalie and Blaise are starting their second semester of senior year at Westwood Academy. After the circumstances in which they last saw each other, they are both keeping their distance. Natalie is struggling to cope with the pressures surrounding her. She begins to teeter on the edge, and it is then that Blaise accidentally learns what she does to forget about the world.

Their paths cross again, and more secrets are revealed. Blaise realizes that he no longer recognizes the girl who once got under his skin. The boy must decide whether to let his dislike for Natalie carry him away, or whether he will find enough empathy to help her find herself.
